How Much Does a London Chauffeur Service Actually Cost? 2026 Pricing Guide

Most chauffeur websites say "contact us for a quote." We think that's unhelpful. If you're comparing options, you deserve to know the price range before you pick up the phone. Here's what a London chauffeur service actually costs in 2026 — broken down by the most common booking types.

Airport transfers: the most popular booking

These are fixed one-way fares. The price doesn't change with traffic, weather, or time of day.

Heathrow to Central London (Mayfair, Knightsbridge, The City): Mercedes E-Class: £120–160 Mercedes S-Class: £160–200 Mercedes V-Class (up to 7 passengers): £160–200

Gatwick to Central London: Mercedes E-Class: £140–180 Mercedes S-Class: £180–220 Mercedes V-Class: £180–220

Luton to Central London: Mercedes E-Class: £160–200

London City Airport to Canary Wharf: Mercedes E-Class: £60–80 (the shortest and cheapest premium transfer in London — 15 minutes door to door)

What's included: Flight tracking, meet and greet inside the terminal with a name board, luggage handling, 60 minutes free waiting time after landing, complimentary water and Wi-Fi.

What's not included: A return journey (book separately), child seats (available on request, usually £15–20), additional stops en route (£15–25 per stop).

Hourly hire: "as directed" bookings

This is when you book a chauffeur and car for a set number of hours and direct them wherever you need to go. Common for business clients with multiple meetings, shopping trips, or city tours.

Minimum booking: Usually 4 hours Mercedes E-Class: £45–55 per hour Mercedes S-Class: £55–70 per hour Mercedes V-Class: £55–70 per hour

What's included: Fuel, parking (within reason), a professional driver who waits between stops.

What's not included: Congestion Charge (£15 per day — most chauffeurs absorb this, but check), ULEZ charges (all reputable fleets are compliant so this shouldn't arise), and tolls like the Dartford Crossing (£2.50).

Wedding chauffeur: what to budget

Wedding transport is priced differently because it involves ribbons, route planning, coordination with your planner, and a driver who stays for the photo opportunities.

Ceremony transfer (home → church → reception): £350–500 Full-day package (bridal party collection, ceremony, reception, evening send-off): £600–1,000 Multi-car package (bride + bridesmaids + parents, 3 cars): £1,200–2,000

What's included: Ribboned vehicle, uniformed chauffeur, route planning with your venue coordinator, champagne on request, flexible timing.

What makes it more expensive: Long distances (venues outside the M25), very early starts, overnight stays for the driver, specialist vehicles (Bentley, Rolls-Royce).

Event day transfers: Ascot, Wimbledon, Wembley

Event-day pricing is usually a fixed return fare because the chauffeur waits on-site for the duration of the event.

London → Royal Ascot (return, full day): £350–500 London → Wimbledon (return, full day): £300–400 London → Wembley (return, match duration): £200–300 London → Twickenham (return, match duration): £200–300

What's included: Drop-off at the venue entrance, the driver on standby throughout, return journey whenever you're ready.

What's not included: Parking charges at the venue (your chauffeur usually parks in a nearby residential street or circuits).

What affects the price?

Five things move the needle on any chauffeur quote:

Vehicle class. An E-Class is the workhorse — comfortable, professional, and the most affordable. An S-Class adds legroom, a quieter cabin, and a prestige feel. A V-Class is for groups.

Distance. Airport transfers are fixed-price per route. Longer routes (London to Bath, Oxford, Silverstone) cost more but are still fixed.

Time. Early morning pickups (before 06:00) and late-night returns (after 22:00) sometimes carry a £20–30 supplement.

Waiting time. The first 60 minutes of waiting at an airport is free. Beyond that, most services charge £25–35 per hour.

Event demand. Royal Ascot week, Christmas party season, and London Marathon day are peak demand periods. Prices don't surge (this isn't Uber), but availability tightens so booking early is essential.

How to spot a quote that's too cheap

If a Heathrow to Mayfair quote comes in under £80 in a "luxury" vehicle, ask questions. At that price, the operator is likely cutting corners on driver hours (fatigued drivers), vehicle maintenance, insurance, or licensing. A TfL-licensed London PHV operator running a properly maintained Mercedes with a professional chauffeur cannot operate sustainably below certain thresholds.

The cheapest quote is rarely the best value when you're trusting someone with your safety, luggage, and schedule.
