One trusted hand
from airport gate to school gate
A combined guardianship and chauffeur service for international students at London's boarding schools and universities — with one vetted, English-speaking point of contact for every journey, every half-term, every late-night call home.
The problem we solve Sending a child to school or university in the UK means assembling a team of strangers — a guardian who you may never meet, a driver who changes every trip, an emergency contact in a different time zone. NLUX brings these roles back into one pair of hands: a single, fully-vetted professional who is both your child's UK guardian and their chauffeur, accountable to you from the moment they land at Heathrow until the moment they fly home.
How the two roles combine As guardians, we are your authorised representative in the UK: we attend parents' evenings and exeat weekends, liaise directly with the housemaster or hall warden, hold consent on your behalf for school trips and medical decisions, and stand as the named emergency contact on every form. As chauffeurs, the same trusted team handles every journey — airport collections at Heathrow, Gatwick, London City, Stansted and Luton; weekly runs between school and London; half-term and exeat travel; and the unplanned trips that matter most, from a doctor's appointment to a quiet pickup after a difficult day.
Who we work with We support international families whose children study at London's leading boarding schools and at universities across London — from Year 9 boarders arriving for their first term to undergraduates managing exam season alone. We also work alongside existing AEGIS-accredited guardianship organisations where families already have one in place, providing the chauffeur layer to a wider care network. Whether the brief is "everything, end-to-end" or "the driving, but with the trust of a guardian," we shape the service around your family.
What is a guardian-chauffeur, and why combine the two?
UK boarding schools require every international pupil under 18 to have a UK-based guardian — an adult responsible for the child outside term time and in any emergency. Most families appoint a guardianship organisation and a separate transport provider. The result is a fragmented care chain: the guardian rarely meets the driver, the driver rarely speaks to the school, and parents abroad coordinate both from a different time zone.
NLUX consolidates the two. The same vetted professional who collects your child from Heathrow attends the parents' evening, drives them to half-term, and answers the late-night phone call. There is one schedule, one invoice, one WhatsApp thread, and — most importantly — one person who actually knows your child.
What's included, end-to-end
Pre-arrival Documentation review with the school, host family or hall of residence. Direct introduction to the housemaster, head of boarding or accommodation officer. A welcome pack sent to parents in advance with the assigned chauffeur-guardian's photo, full profile, vehicle details and direct mobile number.
Arrival in the UK Meet-and-greet inside the terminal at Heathrow, Gatwick, London City, Stansted or Luton. Full unaccompanied-minor handover with the airline representative, including ID verification and signed transfer documentation. Onward chauffeur transfer in a vehicle appropriate to luggage volume and journey length.
During term Scheduled and ad-hoc transfers between school and London — exeats, half-terms, theatre and museum trips, medical and dental appointments, restaurant meet-ups for visiting parents. Real-time WhatsApp updates to parents at pickup, on arrival and at any stop in between.
Guardianship duties Attendance at parents' evenings, school plays and key events on parents' behalf. Standing as the named UK emergency contact. Holding signed consent for school trips, medical treatment and excursions in line with school policy. Liaison with housemasters, matrons and academic staff. Half-term and exeat host arrangements through our vetted partner network where required.
For university students (18+) The remit shifts from formal guardianship to a trusted UK adult on call. Halls-to-airport transfers, late-night safe rides home, exam-week reliability, and a UK-based contact your son or daughter can phone before they phone you.
Departures and emergencies Same chauffeur, same handover protocol on the return trip. 24/7 emergency line answered by a UK-based human, with a documented escalation path to parents in any time zone.
Safeguarding and standards
Every chauffeur-guardian on the NLUX team holds:
- An enhanced DBS check (the UK's most rigorous criminal record disclosure for adults working with children), refreshed on the standard cycle.
- Safer-recruitment vetting including references, right-to-work, and identity verification.
- Safeguarding and child protection training aligned with the AEGIS Guardian Code of Practice.
- A current PCO licence, full commercial insurance, and a clean advanced-driving record.
- Confidentiality and data-protection training — what your child shares in the car stays in the car.
Vehicles are maintained to executive-fleet standard, fitted with rear privacy glass, child-appropriate restraints where requested, and discreet GPS tracking that parents can view live during any journey.
Working with your existing guardian
If your family already uses an AEGIS-accredited guardianship organisation, NLUX integrates as the dedicated chauffeur layer — collecting your child on their instruction, sharing arrival confirmations with both you and them, and operating fully under their safeguarding policy. Many of our clients find the combination — formal guardianship body plus a single named chauffeur-guardian — gives the most resilient cover of all.
Languages and communication
Our coordination team speaks Mandarin, Cantonese, Arabic, Russian and French in addition to English. Updates are sent on whichever channel the family prefers — WhatsApp, WeChat, email or SMS — at every stage of every journey, in your preferred language.
Schools and universities we regularly serve
We collect from and deliver to boarding schools and universities across Greater London and the Home Counties, including (but not limited to) Eton, Harrow, Westminster, St Paul's, Wycombe Abbey, Charterhouse, Wellington, Marlborough, Brighton College, Cheltenham Ladies', and the central London university estate (UCL, KCL, LSE, Imperial, City, Queen Mary, Westminster, Kingston, and the University of the Arts campuses).
Pricing and engagement
Every family's needs differ — a Year 9 boarder five miles from Heathrow has very different requirements to a first-year LSE undergraduate from Hong Kong.
